What You Will Do:
The State and Local Government practice provides individuals the opportunity to serve our States, Counties, Cities, Non-Profit, and Multi-lateral clients in the areas of: economic development, sustainability, disaster recovery, business design, organizational strategy, technology strategy, market analysis, financial modeling, operational analysis, process improvement, change management, technology implementation, risk management, compliance monitoring, and program management. We deliver compelling, high impact solutions to our state and local government clients' toughest business and technology problems. We translate strategy into action. The successful Intern candidate will:
Effectively support client interactions and expectations
Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverables
Perform data analysis and qualitative research to address client needs
Contribute to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients
Present results of assigned tasks and analyses that resonate with clients
Research and stay abreast of news and legislation within the greater Midwest
Work effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team; work independently as needed
Participate in non-client related firm-building activities
Highlights of our Internship Program include:
10-week experience in the Summer of 2025 (Anticipated to start Monday, June 2 thru Friday, August 8)

​What You Will Need:
Minimum Degree Status: pursuing Bachelors or Masters Degree; preferred programs include Management Information Systems (MIS), business, economics, engineering, math, and computer science
Must be current or recently enrolled in an accredited degree program and graduate between Fall 2025 and Spring 2026
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country
No current or future sponsorship is available for this position
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Previous Internship experience in technology consulting, including large technology transformations, ERP, artificial intelligence, cloud transformations, or tech requirements analysis.
Demonstrated proven success and thorough knowledge in key facets of technology, including the following: broadband, IT implementation, systems integration, systems design lifecycle, database management, and agile methodology.
Demonstrates proven success and thorough knowledge of core management consulting skills such as project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, and stakeholder management.
Experience in SQL, Query, Python, R, and other data tools.
Demonstrates knowledge in and passion for improving state and local government through academic courses and project work
Demonstrates proven success and thorough skills to define and lead client-work including conducting baseline assessments, building a future state vision, developing implementation plans, managing multiple stakeholders, and communicating with varying audiences
Demonstrates proven success and thorough knowledge of key facets of state and local government, including the following: federal grants management, sustainability, urban planning, education (K-12 and/or higher education administration), housing, transportation, justice and public safety, economic development, organizational change management, and/or administration.
