Job Description:

The Technology Supply Chain Management (SCM) Partner invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting a portfolio of technology-related supplies and critical contracts while maximizing their value and mitigating risk for Southwest. In addition, this role will oversee sourcing, procurement, contract negotiations, and management of Technology Suppliers supporting Air Operations and Technical Operations. The Technology SCM Partner is a strategic problem-solver and skilled communicator excited to support impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest.

ResponsibilitiesAdvise technology and Stakeholders on common risk elements of a supplier agreement and/ or program or projectAssist Leaders with decision-making process by encouraging competitive evaluation of new suppliers through the RFP processCreate and implement negotiation strategiesManage supplier communications and coordinates contract negotiation and strategic sourcing eventsEducate Stakeholders and set expectations to achieve improved business outcomes and align around key positions on issues such as IP, data security, LOL, and SLA developmentManage on-going demand planning with technology and/ or business Stakeholders for assigned agreements and renewalsSupport multiple technical categories, across multiple programs and areas of the businessIdentify potential procurement opportunities through data analysis, category and industry knowledge, current and emerging business models, and discussions with StakeholdersCommunicate performance and concerns with suppliers that may result in redefining the relationshipMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of and experience in key procurement functional areas of Strategy Development, Contract Negotiation, Supplier and Risk Management and Supplier DiversitySkilled in leveraging tools, processes, and experience to solve problems and provide informed analysis to guide decisions, resolve issues and creates new tools and processes and shares experiences to improve analytical abilities of the TeamAbility to support technology contracts and renewals across a complex or large technology ecosystem for software, hardware, and subscription purchases providing proactive communication to Customers and Suppliers while ensuring timely completionKnowledge of basic technology methodologies & concepts such as SAAS, Agile development, DevOps, etcSkilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-makingAbility to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make senseAbility to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, which does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problemSkilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organizations strategic planSkilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Technology or related fieldPreferred: Experience in project management experience and complex technology contract negotiation Preferred: Knowledge of Ariba, Coupa, Ironclad and Quickbase

Pay & Benefits

Competitive market salary from $105,550.00 to $117,300.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
