AWS Center for Quantum Computing organization (CQC) is seeking a technical sourcing professional to drive new and exciting technology deals, scout for new suppliers and manage supply chain for components which are foundational for building a quantum computer The ideal candidate has engineering experience, business acumen, sound judgment, and a background in technology business development/procurement. You will work in a fast-paced environment, teaming up with engineering teams to identify and onboard hardware, software and services suppliers. You will need to think strategically to negotiate business terms with third party technology partners, exercising your influencing skills both internally and externally to deliver timely results.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Internal collaborations:
Work with
- Engineering partners to understand third-party technology needs
- Legal to convert engagement models to contracts
- Finance for managing budget compliance, make/buy analysis, costed bill of materials
External Partnerships:
- Structure partnerships and business models for technology engagements
- Support engineering in the selection process (scorecards), provide business and contractual expertise
- Negotiate contracts
- Drive executive communications related to the supplier performance
- Analyze and implement opportunities to improve cost and efficiencies
Mechanisms:
Develop processes and tools (JIRA etc..) and manage both strategic and tactical aspects of projects related to procurement and supply chain (cost, speed of execution, quality etc..)

Basic Qualifications
Engineering degree or 8+ years of technical sourcing experience
5+ years' of experience in technology business development or procurement supporting hardware engineering teams
3+ years’ experience leading contract negotiation including complex IP structures and/or regulatory frameworks (e.g. export controls)
3+ years’ experience working with manufacturing vendors, contract manufacturers and electrical/semiconductor component suppliers (e.g. PCB manufacturers, PCB assembly houses, CNC machining vendors, ASIC design firms )
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with public policy to ensure advocacy for business interests
Experience in financial analysis and pricing (e.g. Net Present Value (NPV), Total Cost of ownership (TCO) analysis)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to influence without authority
Tenacity and sense of urgency; ability to drive deals quickly, overcoming obstacles
Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
