Technology Support III Cloud Platform Operations-AWS Databricks LOB SRE Role

As a Technology Support III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Team, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Your role will be technology-centric, requiring cloud skills and knowledge on services specifically AWS & Python. You will be the first point of contact to respond to inquiries or issues regarding AWS & Databricks, promoting enhancements towards automations in the AWS environment, and focusing on continuous service improvement. You will also manage stakeholder communication during technology incidents, document the support process and FAQs, and work with the team to mitigate any knowledge gaps. This role involves a high degree of interaction with SRE Technology teams and building close relationships with other teams within technology & business user community. Job Responsibilities

Liaise with other teams to act as the first point of contact for inquiries or issues regarding AWS and Databricks. Collaborate with technology organization teams to drive enhancements in automations, adding value to the AWS environment and JPMC internal implementation framework. Focus strongly on continuous service improvement within the AWS framework. Analyze issue patterns to identify potential areas for efficiency improvement. Manage stakeholder communication during technology incidents, providing clear and concise updates to keep the business informed about progress and root causes. Document the support process and FAQs, working with the team to address any identified knowledge gaps. Interact extensively with SRE Technology teams and build close relationships with other technology and business user community teams. Demonstrate good teamwork and maintain an open mindset towards diversity and an inclusive culture.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Formal training or certification in Technology Support concepts and 3+ years of applied experience. Candidates with 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, with a graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field. 3+ years of experience with strong programming skills in object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python/Scala, Spark. Hands-on experience in AWS migration and implementation. Experience with DevOps CI/CD toolsets (e.g., Git, Jenkins). Awareness of critical AWS services like EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, RedShift, SMS, SQS, ECS, and Kinesis. 1+ years of experience with AWS cloud services: S3, EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift. Experience with relational SQL, Snowflake, and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra. Ability to demonstrate expertise using AWS technology and setting up S3 buckets and AWS Lambda services. End-to-end monitoring of AWS environment using CloudWatch, Datadog, and X-ray. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal skills to understand and retain knowledge of business processes and technology systems.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

Bachelor of Engineering/BSC-MSC Computers Business domain knowledge on Risk Management, Finance or Compliance would be an advantage Knowledge and experience on big data architecture (Hadoop stack) Databricks Hands on in data Engineering or SRE Role would be a plus Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc. (Nice to have) A flexible approach to working hours is required to support the business.  There is a Rota system in place to provide support between 8:00pm ET and 8:00am ET. Candidates will be required to work in shifts on rotational basis.
