**POSITION DETAILS**
The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) at the City University of New York (CUNY) supports the IT and telecommunications needs of CUNY's 26 colleges. CIS supports enterprise IT and applications and identifies and develops new technologies that advance the University's core mission. Additionally, CIS operates and maintains the University's network, the enterprise Data Center, and the CUNY Service Desk, manages the processes of safeguarding the University’s IT assets and maintains the security posture by operating the CUNY Security Operations Center (SOC), develops disaster recovery plans for business continuity, and supports the CUNYfirst Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that integrates student administration, financial management, and human resources operations across CUNY’s 25 colleges. Lastly, CIS provides strategic and operational IT leadership to all CUNY campuses.
CIS seeks a dynamic Technology Trainer to design and deliver training programs that enhance the technical proficiency of CUNY’s diverse community. This role supports the University’s mission by equipping users with the skills needed to effectively utilize enterprise IT systems, including CUNYfirst and other critical platforms. Reporting to the Associate Director of IT Training, the Technology Trainer assists with training operations, including conducting needs assessments, program design, delivery, and evaluation. Committed to providing accessible and effective training aligned with the University’s goals, the Training Team focuses on developing responsive, self-paced eLearning materials that are trackable, and data driven. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of training processes, projects, and initiatives to support CUNY’s learning community.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs for CUNY platforms and applications, addressing diverse needs of faculty, staff, and students.
+ Assists campus business owners and stakeholders to assess training requirements, set objectives, and promote engagement with training initiatives.
+ Creates user-centric, scalable training materials, including eLearning content, instructional videos, user guides, and interactive tutorials.
+ Establishes and maintains systems for tracking and analyzing training participation, progress, and effectiveness.
+ Solicits feedback through surveys, focus groups, and post-training evaluations to measure knowledge transfer and identify areas for improvement.
+ Facilitates workshops, webinars, and one-on-one training sessions tailored to user proficiency levels and institutional goals.
+ Partners with university-wide committees and task forces to ensure alignment between training programs and evolving technology needs.
+ Stays current with emerging technologies, trends in instructional design, and best practices in technical training to continuously improve offerings.
**NOTE:**
Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred:
+ 4+ years of experience in training, instructional design, or curriculum development, with a proven ability to execute end-to-end training programs.
+ Expertise in instructional design methodologies, training delivery, and program evaluation.
+ Exceptional communication, presentation, and group facilitation skills.
+ Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eLearning tools such as Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, or similar platforms.
+ Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas).
+ Experience with PeopleSoft and/or CUNYfirst.
+ Knowledge of graphic design tools and multimedia development systems.
+ Proven ability to analyze user needs and develop targeted training solutions.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
The salary range is **$86,645 - $93,134,** commensurate with education, credentials, and experience.
