Your role

You will be responsible for the successful Technology Transfer Management of Merck`s commercial biological assets. Furthermore, you will lead a team of TT Leads managing Technology Transfers from Drug Substance Manufacturing to Finished Product. The position is reporting into the Global Manufacturing Science and Technology organization for Biologics.

You ensure projects plans, coordinate project execution, build and improve Technology Transfer project management tools.

Additionally, you communicate priorities and decisions concerning the Technology Transfer portfolio to relevant stakeholders. You will drive the alignment with and get approval from Global Biotech Manufacturing leadership team.

The successful Technology Transfer Management requires your proactive leadership ensuring execution in the organization with adequate budget/resource allocation, strict adherence to set timelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Manage a team of TT Leads for process transfers on Drug Substance, Drug Product, Combination-/ Finished Product for commercial assetsEnsure budget preparation, oversight and management according to target for the TT groupLead Technology Transfers by driving matrixed, cross-functional team (e.g. Supply Chain, Production Unit, Quality Control, HSE, other sites.) to ensure successful production campaigns (validation & commercial campaign)Develop projects plans, coordinate project execution, build and improve Tech Transfer project management toolsBe accountable for success of the product transfer project from initiation to the transfer, engineering studies, process performance qualification until successful transfer completionSupport the preparation of the regulatory approval - process transfer registration dossier and coordinate other relevant registration document, including accuracy and completeness (as appropriate).
Align with Merck TT local site lead and project team, combine with site resource, define project transfer strategy/timeline/activities, set regular meeting to follow up.Coordinate all the activities with local site TT responsible, provide support to cross functions if needed, to ensure no delay for whole project.Work with 3rd party site, solve the issues happened during transfer, including tooling purchasing, material imported, process challenges, etc.Communicate effectively and proactively to involved departments, site leadership and within external forums

 

Who you are

Master or PhD degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent scientific degreeMinimum 8 years of experience in downstream process, or PhD with minimum 4 years of experience in Drug Substance (Biologics) and/or Drug Product Manufacturing Relevant and proven experience in Project Management and Technology Transfer is a mustFluent in English (writing and speaking), additional languages (French or Italian) would be a plusExcellent Communication skills are essential for this roleDemonstrated ability in providing leadership to cross-functional teams to advance complex projects to completion.
