Technology Underwriter

Underwriter – Technology Practice – London, Birmingham or Manchester

Role Purpose:

This is a key role created to support the Technology Practice in line with Chubbs ambitious growth plans in the UKI and Mid Market Technology space. The role is to underwrite new and renewal package and monoline business consisting of UKI and Multinational Property, Casualty, Global Terrorism, Cyber and Technology Errors and Omissions cover (PI).

You will support the team in delivering a high quality service to our brokers and clients whilst developing technical and broader business skills in this specialist industry practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist and lead in the underwriting and processing of new and renewable package business in line with our underwriting appetite, authority limits and business plan. To work in conjunction with the team and COG to ensure efficient working practices are in place and adhered to as per established package underwriting guidelines Support the underwriting team and the NUC through liaison with and participation at meetings with brokers, clients, internal departments, COG and external advisers. To work within the framework of the Chubb Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, Peer Review and within the framework of the protocols established by the Company Project based work in line with Product development and promoting Industry Practices. Travel to other Chubb offices within the UK and to brokers across the UK to develop and grow Chubb’s Online Ignite offering for SME risks. Underwriting experience in the insurance market is required together with an understanding of reading and interpreting Technology specific exposures, terminology and the evolving segment.You will need to demonstrate a practical and common sense approach to dealing with differing situations and an ability to tackle problems often against tight timeframesInterest in Multinational programsCompetent in Microsoft Office.Expected to undertake “on the job” training. This may involvement working in other Chubb officesKeen to embark on, or working towards completion of the ACII and towards becoming a Senior Technology UWExperience with Online platforms for delivery of products to the broker market is a positiveExperience in developing broker relationships.
