We are a global trade show and event organizer, seeking a skilled Vendor Management professional to lead and optimize RX’s global technology vendor management capability.
About the Role
This is a global role with extensive stakeholder engagement opportunities. We’re looking for a confident self-starter with a can-do attitude, an experienced professional proficient in commercial arrangements and with a seasoned awareness of what good looks like. This role will manage technology vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, facilitate compliance reviews and assure timely delivery of goods and services. The successful candidate will be hungry to understand and deliver the target operating model for Global Technology’s Vendor Management function.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute vendor management strategies aligned with company goals and event timelines.Lead supplier negotiations to establish agreements with competitive pricing, favorable terms, volume discounts, value-added services.Source materials, equipment and services specific to RX business needs.Identify cost saving opportunities while ensuring high quality goods and services.Acquire and maintain an understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends, and supplier technology roadmaps.Demonstrate in-depth conceptual- and practical knowledge in your job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.Mobilise small project teams to address specific issues or participate in broader Programs.A UK based individual contributor able to leverage skills and expertise from peers and similar groups across the RELX network.Establish strong relationships with internal partners across other RX functional groups to share learnings and achieve best outcomes.Apply best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products, services, or processes.Creatively solve complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions and exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.Oversee the processing of requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, custom-engineered products, systems, software, or components, tracking and reporting on spend, savings and vendor performance metrics.Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to organizational policy.Upskill junior colleagues with less experience.Work to build consensus and effectively communicate with a diverse range of audiences.Requirements
Vendor Management Specialist with proven experience in supply chains and logistics.Demonstrate strategic thinking skills with a focus on operational efficiency and cost control.Proven track record of cost savings and strong negotiation skills. Demonstrated experience of the end to end buying cycle, building customer relationships that lead to revenue and growth/facilitate successful change.Advanced technical skills in Excel to produce ad hoc reports and pivot tables for deep dive investigations.Demonstrated ability to manage detailed tasks while maintaining oversight of the end-to-end global technology supplier landscape.Ability to anticipate and address client concerns by building trust-based relationships.Strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse audiences across all levels of the organization including C suite.Ability to build influential relationships both internally and externally.Work in a way that works for you
