Volt is immediately hiring a Telematics Engineer in Fountain Valley, CA.

\r\n\r\n

As a Telematics Engineer you will perform:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tIdentify technical conditions occurring at dealerships. This includes evaluation of newly delivered vehicles as well as retailed vehicles.\r\n\tResearch available data to quantify conditions. Information sources include, but are not limited to: Field Product Observation Reports, warranty data, TechLine data and summary reports, monthly “Top Warranty Claims” by Engineer reports, J.D. Power survey data, weekly engineering conference calls with the field technical staff, and bi-weekly conference calls with Technical Assistance Line staff.\r\n\tValidate and recommend enhancements as needed for new technologies and benchmark existing and future technologies as applicable.\r\n\tPrepare written Quality Information Report documents, clearly explaining condition and recommended solutions. Prepare photographs/illustrations/sample parts/videos as appropriate to enhance communication. Submit completed reports and support material to Service Engineering Management and Safety Committee\r\n\tPrepare Technical Service Bulletin drafts in area of responsibility.\r\n\tAssist in vehicle quality audits at Ports of Entry as required.\r\n\tAssist in vehicle “Ride and Drive” evaluations as required.\r\n\tVisit dealerships to investigate/resolve product issues.\r\n\tProvide technical support to field staff, TechLine, Consumer Affairs, Parts, Legal, and Warranty departments as required.\r\n\tDrive engineering fleet vehicles in order to: Monitor and clearly identify JDPA IQS/VDS and CR Reliability (Durability) surveys liabilities and develop improvement and validation plans accordingly. Maintain product knowledge and gain customer/field issue complaint understanding.\r\n\tEvaluate, troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle installed field failure parts (Improved QIR problem definition).\r\n\tDevelop, evaluate and validate vehicle failure countermeasures.\r\n\tManage QA program to ensure that telematics supplier/s and related products are meeting design, operational and Market expectations.\r\n\tSupport development, production support, testing, and launch activities for Hyundai Telematics products.\r\n\tIdentify, document, and report functional issues/risks and take escalation actions as necessary\r\n\tAssist with management of contract engineers to successfully complete the User Acceptance Testing and post-production QA programs.\r\n\tCompile and report system performance and voice of the customer concerns to upper management, while promoting improvements.\r\n\tEnsure defects and systematic issues are accurately defined and scheduled for appropriate resolution.\r\n\tEnsure that both pre-production and post-production countermeasures are implemented to fully support business requirements and launch schedules.\r\n\tResearch and analyze existing and new telematics technologies and make recommendations for changes or new features.\r\n\tReview monthly regression test reports from contract engineer/s, edit as necessary, and distribute to Executive Management.\r\n\tCreate and design Blue Link test cases/scenarios driven by current customer quality concerns.\r\n\tProvide real-time incident/outage notifications\r\n\tParticipate in the weekly Blue Link GEN2 Technical Operations meeting and Blue Link GEN1 weekly issues management meeting.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Position is temp in nature. Hours are full time, M-F from 8am – 5pm.

\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 5 – 7 years experience with an automotive OE preferred\r\n\tPrevious vehicle telematics, connected car or M2M projects experience preferred\r\n\tProject management skills\r\n\tExperience with at least one of the following: IT, Telecommunications, or Vehicle Telematics.\r\n\tKnowledge of or familiarity with in-vehicle electronics including, but not limited to, audio, GPS navigation, Bluetooth, and CAN.\r\n\t Working-level knowledge of wireless technology, IT infrastructures, and the aptitude to advance to expert level.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay Rate: $35-52/hr
