The 11K Monitor Technician (MT)/ Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is part of the health care team, providing support as the telemetry technician and Health Unit Coordinator. The MT assists nursing staff through constant observation of the telemetry monitoring system. The MT constantly observes hospital-wide telemetry, including rhythm and rate identification, documentation and immediate notification to nursing staff of any changes in the patient¿s telemetry pattern. On 11K, the MTs are cross-trained and serve as HUCs.
Function/Duties of PositionThe 7C/11K Monitor Technician (MT)/HUC is part of the health care team, providing support as the telemetry technician and Health Unit Coordinator. You will assist nursing staff through constant observation of the telemetry monitoring system. You will constantly observe hospital-wide telemetry, including:Rhythm and rate identificationDocumentationImmediate notification to nursing staff of any changes in the patient’s telemetry patternOn 7C/11K, the MTs are cross-trained and serve as HUCs, where they provide unit clerical support, unit communication, and other miscellaneous activities including those outlined in the HUC position description. Required Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
HS diploma or equivalentECG monitoring experience and/or previous ECG interpretation courseAt least 75% pass rate on OHSU rhythm interpretation exam in order to be consideredAND (if hired) 100% pass rate on OHSU rhythm interpretation exam within 1 month of hireDemonstrated proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of medical terminologyDemonstrated effective communication skillsDemonstrated collaboration & team work skillsMust be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
