Position Description
Provides oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit to include resolution of concerns related to human resources, telemetry capacity, scheduling issues, and equipment functionality. Works closely and serves as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring. Responsible for the departmental processes that support accurate record keeping, observation of telemetry monitors, and prompt identification and escalation of cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel. May perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed. In the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department.

REQUIRED
LPN/PARAMEDIC/EMT
High School Diploma or GED 2 years of experience BLS Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Medical Terminology Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT) within 6 months of employment
MONITOR TECHNICIAN
High School Diploma or GED 5 years of experience Demonstrated leadership capabilities. BLS Medical Terminology Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiac Technician (CCT)
PREFERRED
Associates Degree in healthcare related field of study 1 year supervisory experience Graduate from an accredited CVT program National certification in specialty area
