The Monitor Tech employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to monitor the central arrhythmia station, interpret slips, identifies abnormal rhythms, and notifies the Clinical Supervisor. Assists Unit Secretary with order entry. Monitors the code phone and calls codes overhead. Visualizes the hospital fire panel and coordinates with Engineering to resolve issues. Floats through the unit and supports nursing assistant staff when two monitor techs are scheduled. Provides information to patients, families, visitors and physicians.
Required qualifications:
Coursework/Training: Must complete basic arrhythmia course and pass a rhythm interpretation test administered by St. Joseph Hospital with a minimum of 85% Coursework/Training: Successful completion of Hospital administered Epic course for order entry within first 30 days of employment Coursework/Training: Successful completion of hands-on orientation with preceptor Coursework/Training: Hands on Orientation with a preceptor to the nursing assistant role National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire AACN EKG certification or other hospital provided training program within 90 days of hire Experience with medical terminologyPreferred qualifications:
