Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Telephone Control Officer (TCO).  Responsible for performing daily duties as Telephone Control Officer (TCO).  The candidate will provide technical and general direction regarding regulatory and procedure concerning SAG-U voice communication requirements. Organizes and sets priorities for ordering and installation of telephones, cell phones and voice communication services; monitors the repair of equipment, service plans orders, controls, installs and maintains records for all installations and repairs; reviews user billing statements for indicators of fraud, waste and abuse; plans for moves and future requirements to minimize disruptions. Ensures that the TCO team maintains an active ‘by-user’ inventory of all VoIP telephones, cell phones, communication devices, and Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) chips associated with those devices; as well as maintains records of all necessary access and pin codes for cell phones and associated equipment.  

Responsible for input into the SAG-U Supply and Logistics Program by providing strategic direction, establishing priorities, setting goals, and achieving high levels of support and accountability. Assist in providing future and long-range vision, operating direction and guidance, and supply and logistics program development. 

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Candidate will ensure response to user requests for assistance are executed in a timely manner

Candidate manages account creation, access level validation, modification, and deletion of all VoIP telephone global and local commercial access, cell phones and associate devices.

Candidate will Maintain records of user accountability and user agreement documents.

Identifies and determines problems and takes corrective action where feasible in cases of hardware/software failure or in circumstances when prescribed procedures will not produce desired results. 

Candidate coordinates support actions with users, management, and higher levels as appropriate.

Candidate is responsible for the accountability, validation of phone requirements, issuance and turn-in of cell phones and associate devices for SAG-U through established Army accountability processes, including hand receipts and user agreement documents. 

Tracks the monthly and recurring usage of cell phones and VoIP commercial phones used by SAG-U personnel by the review and analysis of monthly billing statements.

Ensures verification of questionable calls for issue of cash collection vouchers when necessary.

Reports all violations of regulatory procedures to the SAG-U J6 with recommended administrative or punitive courses of action. 

Prepares processes, tracks all Local Service Requests (LSRs) and reports pertaining to TCO requests, and works closely with SAG-U J6 on all TCO-related Requests for Change.

Responsible for assisting in the managing of supply and logistics activities in support of the SAG-U Logistical Resources Management encompassing classified and unclassified communications, distributed computer data networks, automation, audiovisual, telecommunications, and video teleconferencing.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Clearance Level Required: Secret Level Security Clearance or higher

Experience: 7-10 years’ experience acting as a TCO or similar position with a logistics background.

Skills: Significant technical experience and general direction regarding regulatory and procedure concerning voice communication requirements. Candidate will have great organization skills. Preferred candidate will have significant logistics and configuration management skills. Must be able to operate independently with little or no supervision.  

Certifications: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1.Must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.

Must be able to meet German TESA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced industry certifications such as MCTS Server Administrator, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent.

Robust understanding of networking principles and fundamentals.

A Windows server certification is desired.

German TESA requirements: 

A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
