A Telephone Operator is responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing calls accurately and courteously.

\nWhat will I be doing?

\n\n

A Telephone Operator contributes to the impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\n\n\tProcess all incoming and outgoing calls accurately and courteously\n\tRecords and controls accurately wake up calls\n\tPages guests in co-operation with concerned departments\n\tAssists guests with international calls and directory queries\n\tCalls guests by name whenever possible\n\tPages staff member when requested\n\tAbides by principles of guest privacy\n\tHandles guests' needs or requests and reports complaints to the Magic Supervisor\n\tReport on logbook daily\n\tBill call costs\n\tAware of local telephone listings and frequently dialed numbers\n\tAdvises defects on switchboard equipment to Supervisor\n\tAttends to all guest queries and requests promptly\n\tMaintains detailed knowledge of the Hotel's fire, life and safety system\n\tMaintain Hotel Information\n\tProvide secretarial services for guests\n\tEfficient in the use of all business center equipment\n\tUpdate traffic sheets accurately\n\tHandle complaints promptly and follow up thoroughly on action taken\n\tPromote in house service and facilities\n\tUpdate airline schedules and guides the guest whenever requested\n\tCo-ordinate the reservations of meeting rooms\n\tAdvise to Supervisor all stationary needs in advance\n\tEnsure cleanliness of work area and clean your work area prior to departing\n\tReport daily activities in logbook\n\n\n

Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:

\n\n\n\tDemonstrate Awareness of Hilton policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within Hilton guidelines\n\tBe familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly\n\tInitiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers\n\tLog security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements\n
