The roleWe are the Thermo Fisher NanoPort team. As the largest Electron Microscopy demo labs in the world, NanoPort team supports sales of all Electron Microscopy and Spectroscopy products through demonstrations and serves as a meeting place for Thermo Fisher Applications Scientists and customers to collaborate using NanoPort demo instruments. For all these functions, the performance of the microscopes to the highest standards and the general functioning and appearance of the NanoPort lab is essential. We provide technical and scientific expertise in the support of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Global sales efforts.
Join us as an Application Scientist in Transmission Electron Microscope and assist us in our mission to become the world leader in serving science. This multifaceted position involves providing scientific training, demonstration, mentorship, application support/troubleshooting and Technical sales/marketing support.
This is a field-based role, involving extensive travel across China. Occasional support needs to be provided to customers in the other countries in Asia-pacific region. How will you make an impact?
We will support the customer in-person at their lab, and by remote support station, phone and email, serving as a trusted advisor. In doing so, we will help to increase customer satisfaction and build loyalty and chip in to the overall success of the business.
Deliver on-site and remote scientific application support & training support to our customers on our leading TEM productsCoordinate customer training and deploy training agenda locally.Lead product demonstrations and sample jobs at customer or NanoPort sites.Own regional platform/workflow, and benchmarking.Generate results for marketing collateral in coordination with Sales Development and Product Marketing managers.Diagnose & resolve product performance problems and customer queries/complaints.Work with sales representatives on sales calls to give technical and application assistance in response to customer inquiriesAssist the regional sales team in the development of accounts by giving technical seminars and presentations that promote the use of our productsMaintain up-to-date technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of our product portfolio and scientific developments in TEM and related subjectsMentorship of colleaguesHow will you get here?
Education and ExperienceMajor in Life Sciences, Master’s or equivalent degree, higher degree is preferred.3+ years of Cryo-TEM experience, or 6+ years of related experience, experienced in biological sample cryo workflowExperience in communicating technical materials in written and verbal formKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesCustomer-facing experience, with the emotional intelligence to understand customer concerns.Able to connect with and support people effectively with varying levels of technical knowledge and expertiseGood digital literacy and groundbreaking technologyWillingness to travel extensively (up to 60%)Proficient in EnglishOur Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
