TEMP SENIOR SCIENTIST, FORMULATION AND DELIVERY SCIENCES

SUMMARY:

We seek inquisitive and motivated RAs/scientists to help build an exciting new gene editing franchise within a leading nucleic acid therapeutics company. This is an onsite laboratory-based role in preclinical formulations R&D for the intracellular delivery of RNA. The successful candidate will create novel nanoparticles comprising nucleic acids, lipids, polymers and peptides, perform physical-chemical characterizations, and conduct in-vivo / in-vitro studies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Contribute to the design, production, and testing of a variety of nucleic acid containing nanoparticles for preclinical research programs and transition to clinical development. Produce bench scale formulations using microfluidic mixing and UF/DF, filtration, centrifugation, etc. Perform routine rodent procedures to dose formulations and assess safety/activity. Perform routine particle analysis via DLS, zeta potential, TNS pKa, fluorescence methods, and potentially analyze lipids and RNAs via HPLC, etc. Proactively collaborate with scientists across the organization to advance company objectives Thoroughly document results in electronic lab notebooks and present findings to cross-functional teams Assist in maintaining general laboratory functionality including ordering and receiving lab supplies Analyze experimental data and present scientific results at team research meetings Contribute to publications and patent applications

REQUIREMENTS:

BS in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience for Senior RA role MS in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, bioengineering, or related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience for Senior RA role PhD in life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, engineering or related discipline for a Scientist role. Specific level will be based on each candidate’s combination of skills and accomplishments. Ability to learn and perform routine rodent procedures (eg., tail vein injection and necropsy) is required. Experience with cell culture is a plus. Experience formulating and characterizing RNA and/or protein containing nanoparticles Experience with analytical methods for RNA and/or lipids is a strong plus A team player who can work both independently and with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Ability to engage experts and literature to troubleshoot complex scientific problems. Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills

The hourly pay scale for this position is $52.92/hour to $67.67/hour
