Job Description
Job Summary
The Instructor will provide instruction and supervision to the summer camp students. This includes providing and maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment for participants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in one or more of the following areas in the summer program: algebra, calculators, logic, geometry/trigonometry, calculus, statistics, topics in problem solving, pre-engineering, engineering/robotics, advanced computers (AutoCAD), computer programming (JAVA), computer graphic design, chemistry, physics, water science, technical writing, research/study, Python, and or Cyber Security.
+ Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
+ Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
+ Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing program rules and procedures.
+ Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
+ Maintain rosters and meet class as scheduled. Assess student progress and assign grades.
+ Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
+ Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
+ Prepare classroom for class activities.
+ Participate in cultural/educational field trips.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
+ Education - Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
+ Experience - Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Experience working with middle/high school students in an educational setting.
+ Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction or Teaching experience in content area.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Current teaching and learning techniques.
Ability to:
+ Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
+ Interact effectively, professionally, and tactfully with students, faculty, and other University personnel.
+ Motivate students.
+ Maintain confidentiality.
+ Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
+ Work with pressing timelines.

Other Requirements
+ Positions are grant funded and temporary, start date of June 2nd to June 30th.
+ Position requires working up to 19 hours per week for the duration of the summer program.
+ Position requires on campus, face to face interactions.
+ Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
+ Individuals will be working with minors and proper background checks will be run by HR prior to employment.

Pay of Rate: $30.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
