Position Summary: The Department of Music invites applications for a Temporary Full Time Instructor of Music Theory/Composition 9-month beginning August 16, 2025. Duties & Responsibilities: Arkansas State University (A-State) is recruiting applicants for the position Temporary Full Time Instructor of Music in Theory/Composition. The Temporary Full Time Instructor of Music in Theory/Composition will teach music theory-related courses including: + Undergraduate/Graduate Music Theory + Applied Music Composition + Orchestration + Form and Analysis + Aural Theory + Music Fundamentals + Counterpoint + Additional duties as assigned based on the strengths of the selected applicant and Department of Music needs Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Applicant should demonstrate active scholarly and creative work, knowledge of current compositional trends, evidence of excellence in teaching, and artistic leadership in the areas of composition and theory. General Days/Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM plus additional hours for musical events on weekends and weekday evenings. Other: Application deadline: 1/3/2025.
