Temporary Part-time LANGUAGE Instructor OF Hindi
The Less-Commonly-Taught-Languages Center in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Linguistics seeks a non-tenure-stream Part-Time Instructor of Hindi to temporarily cover courses in that language during the Spring semester 2024 to cover a faculty member on short-term leave. This temporary appointment may begin as early as January 22, 2024, but likely will not extend to the end of the spring semester.
Minimum Requirements:
• A master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Hindi Language Pedagogy, Linguistics, Foreign Language Pedagogy, or a related field;
• Two (2) years of experience in teaching Hindi at the college level;
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching as well as advanced or superior level proficiency in Hindi (speaking/listening and reading/writing) and a strong command of English;
• The applicant does not have to live in Pittsburgh as remote teaching is an option.
