TEMPORARY RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/SCIENTIST

SUMMARY: 

For the Temporary Research Associate / Scientist role, we are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to support development of novel methods for regulating gene expression using biochemical (cell-free) and eukaryotic cell culture systems.  The selected temporary candidate will be part of a new Ionis team developing cutting edge technology in gene expression and gene editing and will work closely with the Medicinal Chemistry department.  The temporary candidate must have scientific experience in the laboratory and strong critical thinking skills.  This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to gain experience by working in a cutting edge biopharma setting under an onsite position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct new and ongoing routine/non-routine experiments in the laboratory Develop and optimize experimental methods Analyze and record data Present and participate in internal scientific meetings

REQUIREMENTS:

 BS/MS degree in Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry  Familiarity with standard biochemical, molecular, and cellular biology techniques including SDS-PAGE, agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, fluorescence-based assays, RNA/DNA purification  Comfortable with conducting laboratory experiments and instrumentation  Excellent communicator  Organized and detail oriented  Experience in eukaryotic cell culture desired
