Built-in 1973 Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is committed to providing daily excellence in health care for residents of Sacramento’s southern suburbs including the Elk Grove Wilton and Galt communities. Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The incumbent participates in programs involving operation and maintenance of buildings grounds equipment distribution lines for steam hot water plumbing electricity refrigeration sanitation for hospital and Medical Office buildings. Will respond effectively to emergency situations including fire disruptions of above stated utilities or other emergency situations.

Core Duties:

Completes preventative maintenance work orders per standard indicated on work orderTakes readings and makes mechanical rounds checks within time frame. Reports any discrepancies immediately to supervisorDemonstrates and exercises the necessary skills to operate and maintain all related boiler operations and equipment including fuel switchingResponds and performs appropriately to emergency situations as they occurDemonstrates and exercises appropriate actions when required to adhere to the sterile dress codes in related areasDemonstrates and exercises the necessary skills to properly operate and maintain all related HVAC equipmentConsistently practices the safe operation of equipment and uses all safety equipment as appropriateDemonstrates and exercises the necessary skills to enter and extract correct information from the computer system and the related programsUnderstands and operates emergency generators and related switch-gear per Regulatory Standards
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Universal CFC certification4 years overall of related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondence speak effectively before individuals or
employees of the organizationAbility to perform basic computer skills needed to input and extract engineering work orders and other documentationAbility to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimalsUse specific formulas conversation tables and other mathematical factors normally used in engineering operations and maintenance activitiesValid California Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Science Degree in Mechanical Electrical Technology or related field2 years hospital experience
