Atkinson Construction is currently seeking a highly talented Engineering Manager. As an Temporary Structures Engineer, you will provide engineering design services for temporary structures to our construction projects, primarily in Washington. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Perform analysis on existing structures and design temporary supports, falsework and access systems for a variety of bridge construction, erection, and other heavy civil construction projectsPrepare design drawings, calculations, and reports for use by our projects and estimatingParticipate in the estimating processParticipate in meetings with clients and project team membersMaintain good relationships with our teams using strong interpersonal skillsStay up-to-date with the state of practice, and integrate innovation and technology in designAssist in training and development of other staff membersOccasional travel to provide project onsite supportSuccessfully delivering a design that is on budget, on schedule, and compliant with program standardsQualifications:
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering2 to 5 years of experience in temporary structures design and/or construction of bridgesP.E. license in Washington and, or CaliforniaStrong communication skills ( both written and verbal) and ability to work in a team environmentSolid organizational skills with attention to detailExperience using current design codes like AASHTO, AISC and ACIProficiency in AutoCADSkills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of formwork and falseworkClear understanding of integrated design and construction schedules Ability to lead a collaborative design process with various stakeholdersStrong leadership, communication and relationship-management skillsAbility to train, manage, and influence direct reportsAbility to motivate and collaborate with peers working at other firmsAbility to participate in pursuit efforts for design-build projectsSelf-motivated, organized team player with ability to manage work priorities in a fast-paced environmentAtkinson offers a total compensation package that includes base salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefit package that includes health benefits (medical and dental plans), paid time off (vacation, sick and holiday), financial benefits (retirement plan with both match and annual company contribution, life insurance, short and long term disability, and commuter benefits). Base salaries will be determined by factors such as geographic location, education, skills, experience, and market considerations. For this role the base salary range is $100,000 to $160,000.
