The Terminal Manager role is based in Doraville, Georgia and reports directly to the VP Cement Operations – Southeast.

This position will be responsible for managing cement terminals that are reliable, cost effective, safe, environmentally responsible, and provide efficient customer service. The Terminal Manager will have oversight for six (6) Cement Terminals, two (2) Rail Transloading Sites, Cement Stage Yard Locations, and the Rail Distribution. These facilities currently operate in the Southeast Region and are located in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. These distribution terminals transport more than 600,000 t/year of Cement product throughout the Southeast.
Partner with the local Environmental and Safety Professionals to drive, maintain, and promote a safe working environment, meeting all company standards and external regulations.
Coordinate terminal operations to effectively communicate with Sales, Operations, Dispatch and Logistics to meet customer demand.
Plan and facilitate product movement via rail or truck transfers to ensure inventory availability at each terminal to satisfy the sales forecast.
In this position, there will be a strong emphasis on Cement Terminal Preventive Maintenance & Reliability while providing the leadership required to implement a continuous improvement philosophy.
The individual in this position will be involved and have direct reporting responsibilities for the Terminal Supervisors and their personnel. This will include assessment of personnel, development, recruitment, and implementing the management processes and procedures that align with Human Resources and Company policies and procedures.
Develop and guide the Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Reliability process to ensure that all systems at the Cement Terminals continue to do what is required in their present operating context, and to achieve improvements by establishing a safe minimum level of maintenance.
Manage and coordinate railcar repairs as necessary to maintain unloading efficiency.
Manage and coordinate trailer repairs to maximize inventory at Toccoa transloading facility.
Review inventory and manage procedures monthly to provide efficient material handling practices.
Provide trend and root cause failure analysis that may affect the Cement Terminals ability to operate safe and reliable.
Guide the planning, scheduling, and execution of short, medium and longer-term maintenance work; including preventive maintenance, repair maintenance, and plant improvement projects
Ensure terminal initiative follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner according to schedule.
Standardize processes, spreadsheets and report formats across terminals.
Responsibilities will also include tracking & coordinating safety and environmental compliance actions with the terminal supervisors, and assure all incidents are properly investigated, reports are completed and processed, and corrective actions are implemented.
Conduct routine, internal terminals audits
Create and present reports on terminal performance that include; development, planning, and forecasts that align with specific needs of each cement terminal.
Develop and manage terminals to established annual budgets.
Create and manage the capital requests for terminal asset requirements.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree or Technical degree, or significant Technical/Mechanical Maintenance experience with Cement Terminals.
Self-motivated.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience as a manager or supervisor capable of planning, organizing and directing others.
Experience in cement shipping operations and maintenance.
Experience in developing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
Excellent analytical, planning and coordination skills.
Experience with SAP, MS Office products (Excel) Cement Distribution Management
Minimum of five years of related experience or training in maintenance management; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Cement Terminal business.
Experience in the methods, techniques and procedures involved in maintenance and repair of stationary and mobile transport/conveyance type equipment utilized in Cement Terminals.
Background in fixed assets within the Cement business/industry, or other heavy industrial type business.
Valid driver’s license required.
Demonstrated commitment and ability to work in a high quality and team environment.
