PURPOSE OF JOB:

This position is responsible for safely unloading & strategically moving intermodal containers within the railyard.

 

JOB DUTIES:

 

General Labor - Hostler

Act as a spotter between heavy equipment operators; Top Loaders, Hostler, Cranes, etc. Climb rail car ladders to lock and unlock intermodal containers. Drive Hostler in railyard to transport and store intermodal container to and from trackside. Move intermodal containers from railcars to trailers via Top Loaders, Side Loaders, Cranes, etc. Compliance and participation in safety guidelines and programs. Inventory management and other duties as assigned.

 

General

Ensure prompt and regular attendance. Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management. Travel as business needs may require.
