PURPOSE
To assist the Assistant Terminal Manager (where applicable) / Terminal Manager in meeting the business goals of BWC Terminals (The Company) by managing the shift team, productivity, and enforcing overall safety of the Terminal operations. To provide continual leadership and training of all Terminal Operations personnel on lineups, piping systems, safety procedures, and operational procedures. Report to the Assistant Manager or Terminal Manager, as necessary, all incidents, all safety violations, operational errors or inadequate performance by operators. In addition, work closely with customers, agents, and surveyors. Have a good understanding and knowledge of terminal operations procedures, capabilities, and constraints
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Below is a list of essential duties of this position. NOTE: Other duties may be assigned as needed.
+ Directly supervise and coordinate the operations of the terminal. Assist the Assistant Terminal Manager / Terminal Manager with staff recruitment, training, performance management, and corrective actions.
+ Direct, assign and guide the operations staff to complete the operations service orders, as per procedures.
+ Observe and make recommendations regarding the efficiency of the Terminal’s operational processes.
+ Assist in planning and coordinating customer service activities in consultation with the Assistant Terminal Manager / Terminal Manager.Act as prime contact for customers in conjunction with the Assistant Terminal Manager / Terminal Manager.
+ Follows and assures compliance of staff to all regulations and laws.
+ Maintains proper record keeping including but not limited to, Operations Service Orders, Work Orders, Training, and Time Keeping.
+ Ensure that all equipment not in operating order is taken out of production and that repairs, and maintenance of equipment is timely resolved, and ensure a work order record is provided.
+ Assist the HSSE representative in developing, implementing, and enforcing company policies and procedures to promote and ensure a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Approve contractor qualifications in consultation with the HSSE department and procurement. Ensure contractors are following all The Company policies/procedures, including compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Conduct safety meetings and daily inspections.
+ Work with Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and/or bargaining unit contracts as well as local, state and federal laws. Coordinate activities with Human Resources to ensure that recruitment, retention, employee relations, performance management, and other human resource issues are effectively and efficiently carried out.
+ Ensure all transfer loads/discharges are carried out per The Company polices and regulations, including ensuring appropriate product level in loading/unloading, coordinating the logistics and movement of conveyances.
+ Direct tank cleaning activities, along with and waste logistics.
+ Assist the Assistant Terminal Manager / Terminal Manager in defining the scope, cost estimate and goal of projects.Assist the Terminal Manager with the management of the projects, including RFPs/bids, budget monitoring, vendor/contractor managing, specs monitoring, and compliance issues.
+ May assist the Assistant Terminal Manager / Terminal Manager conducting customer and regulatory audits and inspections.
+ Prepare and timely submit various management reports.
+ Plan and complete special projects as assigned by management, including serving on The Company committees.
+ Demonstrate commitment to continuous efficiencies improvement.
+ Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s)
+ Interact and communicate with staff and co-workers in a professional and appropriate manner and respond to and give feedback in a respectful and positive manner.
+ Take the initiative to identify problems, use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner.
+ Support team efforts, actively work to generate respect and enthusiasm, cooperate with others, and actively learn from other team members.
+ Report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates.
+ Conduct employee performance evaluations.
+ Mentor, coach, and assist improving employee skill sets.
+ Work with HSSE and write permits such as, safe work, hot work, confined space, LOTO.
+ Supervisors shall comply, and ensure assigned employees, are compliant with applicable regulatory and company health, safety, environmental, and security requirements. Supervisors, and assigned employees, areexpected to complete required training in a timely manner; perform duties in a safe and environmentally sound manner; and immediately report injuries/illnesses, environmental spills/releases, and any unsafe acts or conditions to supervision in support of continual improvement of the company's health, safety, environmental, and security performance.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSES, MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, LICENSES, AND QUALIFICATIONS

+ Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry related Supervisor experience.
+ Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a terminal operator or related terminal, pipeline, refinery, chemical plant, or tank vessel experience.
+ Knowledge of and ability to manage staff
+ Knowledge of and skilled in operating equipment, i.e., forklift, crane, hydraulic
+ Ability to use hand/power tools
+ Ability to wear safety equipment, including respirator, safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and similar equipment
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents (regulations, policies, reports, bids, etc.), blueprints, drawings
+ Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures
+ Ability to effectively present information, communicate with, and respond to questions and complaints from staff, co-workers, management, and customers
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office software
+ Experience and ability in working with and evaluating contractors and subcontractors and similar vendors
+ Knowledge of pertinent laws and regulations
+ Customer service focus
+ Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers; ability to write reports/documents
+ Ability to interact with others in a professional and appropriate demeanor, work effectively with a diverse group of individuals and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers

+ Ability to work independently with general direction from management
+ Capable of reporting to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position and willingness to perform duties as workload necessitates
+ Ability to carry out the duties of this position while helping the company to meet its mission and while adhering to policies, procedures, and regulations, especially safety regulations.
+ Must be TWIC eligible.

Working Conditions and Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the individual is often exposed to a variety of weather conditions, including rain and heat/cold, noise, fumes, grease, oil, noxious odors, cleaning chemicals, paints, glues, and solvents. Approximately 30% of the workday is outdoors.
Physical Requirements/Activities: This position involves standing, bending, stooping, walking, and climbing. Frequently the employee is required to kneel, bend, crawl, crouch, push, pull, lift, or twist. Occasionally the employee is required to lift or exert force of more than 50 pounds. Frequently, the employee is required to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required is close vision of 20 inches or less and vision ability of greater than 3 feet.
