Terrain Park Lead

Eldora is the backyard winter mountain playground for Greater Denver, Boulder County, and Colorado's northern Front Range. Eldora is located just outside of the charming mountain town of Nederland, Colorado, about 20 miles west of Boulder and less than 50 miles from downtown Denver.

Eldora strives to deliver Colorado’s Front Range the most memorable outdoor adventures to locals and out-of-town visitors.   Eldora Mountain Resort employs up to 700 employees at peak season and has 680 acres of lift-accessible terrain for skiing and snowboarding, including a Woodward Mountain Park experience, and a world class Nordic Center.

Woodward Eldora is looking for a Terrain Park Lead to join our team. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is focused on ensuring the future success of Woodward Eldora’s terrain parks. The Terrain Park Lead will assist the Terrain Park Manager and the Terrain Park Supervisor in the overall delivery of the Terrain Park focusing on hand crew and daytime operations. This position will work closely with many mountain operations teams and play a leading role in the Terrain Park Department. This individual is responsible for overseeing day staff as well as helping with all operations of the parks. The Terrain Park Lead will also be responsible for the daily risk management of the terrain park venue including the completion of daily logs, signage, and feature maintenance. This position will assist in design, building and testing of features. The lead will be responsible for park crew safety, assisting with on mountain training and leading safety meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work in partnership with the Terrain Park Manager and Supervisor to create a world class on hill productAssist with all feature construction projects, special event builds and maintenance of terrain parks, half pipes and terrain based teaching areas.Contribute to overall park design and layoutOversee the performance, conduct and quality of work for team members during each shift.Responsible for daily communication to Terrain Park Manager, Terrain Park Supervisor and Grooming SupervisorAssist in creating a plan and delegating daily assignmentsRepresent department professionally and work with mountain operation departments to complete overall resort objectivesTalk to Terrain Park users and educate them on the proper etiquette and park safety.Ensure proper branding within the Terrain Parks in accordance to the given guidelines.Operate snowmobile to transport attendants and equipment to parks and pipes when/where needed.Report accidents to patrol and assist when needed.Maintain and repair Terrain Park equipment and maintain cleanliness of equipment storage areas.Interact with park/pipe users and solicit feedback.Open or close features depending on conditions.Perform park/pipe daily duties (fencing, jump testing, handwork on features, dying features, etcOther duties as assigned

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

2 years previous experience in a Terrain Park SettingPrevious experience building and maintaining all types of freestyle terrain featuresExperience using several types of power toolsMust be an advanced level skier or snowboarderMust be able to ski/ride with tools or equipment.Must have strong leadership skillsMust be able to motivate and elevate the performance of staffMust have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all types of personnelMust have strong organizational and planning skillsMust be able to problem solve and quickly adapt to changes

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $21+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
