Test Architect (TAR)

The Test Architect bears the overarching responsibility for ensuring the overall quality and reliability of all test within the Solutions to be delivered, releases and Change requests.
The Test Architect is responsible for exercising leadership through the complete testing lifecycle. The Test Architect uses strategies, methods, practices, processes, and tactics to develop software test architecture for the Solutions in total. The Test Architect’s work supports the Test Managers risk-based prioritisation with knowledge on risk mitigation, testability and system-based facts. In essence, the Test Architect serves as a mentor for the Test Managers in all matters related to testing.
Responsibility
▪ At all times comply with the Solutions standards on testing policies, criteria, strategy, and procedures. A senior Test Architect that supports the development of appropriate test Master Test Plans, technical approaches, and supports the use of automated test to safeguard the system's overall quality throughout the software lifecycle.
▪ Keeps up to date with the latest methods and techniques in the software testing industry and applies new ways of optimizing the test deliverables continuously throughout the product lifecycle.
▪ Define and supports the Test Environment Manager with the software architecture of the test system, including test environment, infrastructure, and automation.
▪ Build, monitor, and maintain optimum test overview, architectures, and techniques.
▪ Identify architectural requirements and limitations of test systems to improve processes and select test and test automation methods, data, and tools as required.
▪ Document and track risks for the test architecture of the Solutions.
▪ Create test system models, including various views and layers as required.
▪ Delineate the logical units of the test system by defining, validating and maintaining the test architecture.
▪ Work with testers to define and explain the test architecture and the design philosophy of the test system.
▪ The Test Architect carry the same authority and responsibility as system architects, hardware, and network architects.
Communication
▪ Facilitate meetings, workshops, and status meetings with relevant Stakeholders.
▪ Communicate with the Stakeholders relevant for the purpose of the architectural overview to be maintained and completed.
▪ Communicate with Test Managers, Test Analyst, Test Engineer, Test Data Engineer.
▪ Use Test Architect Tools to organise and track test Architectural Views of the Solutions and Test Environments.
▪ Collaborate with Test Manager, Test Analyst, Test Engineer, Test Data Engineer, Test Data Manager, Test Environment Manager, Development Team, Product Owner, Project Manager, IT Consultant, Portfolio Quality Manager, Service Manager.
REQUIRED COMPENTENCIES AND SKILLS
Testing
▪ Solid understanding of Information engineering.
▪ Demonstrates experience and understanding various types of testing, such as functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.
▪ Experience with the use of Test Management Tools and defect tracking tools.
▪ Analytical and problem-solving skills with a sharp attention to details.
▪ Business understanding of requirements, architecture and development abilities, skills in testing and quality, communication capabilities, and leadership.
▪ Close cooperation with engineering departments, management, and stakeholders.
▪ Training and guidance in test planning, strategy, and architecture.
▪ The ability to calculate cost and schedule estimates.
▪ The knowledge and planning skills in the Solutions area includes:
▪ An understanding of the software system under test,
▪ Partners and suppliers of support products,
▪ Test management, standards, certifications, and guidance,
▪ The development of test and project process improvement objectives,
▪ An understanding of the software development lifecycle in the Solutions,
▪ Comprehensive experience in Testing, techniques, Test design, execution, and post-analysis,
▪ Comprehensive experience in creating a stable Test architecture.
General
▪ Professional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with Stakeholders.
▪ Ability to promote new enhanced ways of working in the Managed Test Service team.
▪ Experience with cross Stakeholder communication in a test project context.
Certification
The Test Architect is expected to have the following Basic Certifications:
▪ ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) (Minimum requirement),
▪ ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager (CTAL-TM) (Minimum
requirement),
Language
▪ Fluent in both oral and written English.
▪ Fluent in both oral and written Danish (onshore resources).
