Job Description
The Test Engineer is responsible for writing code/scripts identifying tools for functional and non-functional tests and contributing to the automated test frameworks to ensure the delivery of high quality software and products. The Test Engineer designs test plans procedures and code/scripts to accurately assess new products and updates in accordance to product requirements and department quality standards. The Test Engineer will collaborate with other engineering groups to define document analyze perform and interpret tests for products systems components and software modifications. The Test Engineer will contribute to the establishment and use of the build pipeline.
What you will be doing Develop and maintain complex integration, functional, and non-functional tests, and automated test frameworks across teams, to ensure the holistic quality of the softwareLead and maintain the implementation of the delivery pipeline, including test automation, frameworks, build environments, test environments, and securityLead the verification of system functionality by executing complex automated and manual tests, analyzing results, and providing recommendations. Create and manage performance metrics, defects/enhancements, test cases, and test results within a team.Operate as a trusted advisor on issues and trends; provide general consulting services leveraging expertise and best practice knowledge; identify and implement better test tools and automation methodologyAnalyze and report test results and monitor trends over time; provide guidance to teams to continuously improveMentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; may provide feedback to leadership on technical abilities of teamResearch complex escalations for production issues or software issues to ensure the stability of the applicationComplete complex peer code reviews for test automation code and incorporate feedback into automated testsInfluence and lead on standards and processes of team and events, including planning, work estimation, peer reviews, and test designAssess the business value and broader impact of software changes when designing automated tests; contribute to the prioritization of team backlog What will make you successful Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and relevant work experience of 8+ years.Experience with all phases of test lifecycleExperience in software application testing tools, methodologies, and process frameworkExperience with test automation and continuous integration toolsExperience documenting standards, practice guidelines and/or standardsSignificant experience with test designProgramming Language: C#, Java, PythonFramework / tools: BDD framework, Selenium, TestNG, NUNIT, WinApp Driver or equivalent toolsTesting experience with Databases like MS SQL Server and/or OracleAPI testing with Postman or similar toolGood to have Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline Significant experience with using source control systemsSignificant experience in development on Windows/Linux platformsSignificant experience with multiple scripting toolsSignificant experience with build environments and delivery pipelinesSignificant experience with programming or scriptingExperience with database technologyExperience with Agile frameworksDemonstrated experience with regression testingStrong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tactStrong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skillsStrong collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areasStrong critical thinking and problem solving skillsGood leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skillsStrong at using original thinking to translate goals into the implementation of new ideas and design solutionsSelf-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completionAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAble to thrive in a fast paced environmentStrong attention to detailDriven to learn and stay current professionallyMentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; may provide feedback to leadership on technical abilities of teamUp to 5% travel time requiredHyland’s Offering
