The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Test Engineer to support Hull Form and Propulsor Testing at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) located in Bethesda, MD.

The Test Engineer will lead testing and analysis related to fluid mechanics focusing on the execution of model-scale submarine, surface ship, and propeller test programs.  


Responsibilities:

Test Engineer responsibilities include experimental test planning, experimental design, instrumentation selection and development to meet test objectives, software development for acquisition and analysts, and cavitation testing. You will also be able to develop and present programmatic and technical briefings to upper leadership.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the execution of model-scale test programs specifically regarding cavitation.

Qualifications:

Required: 

Ability to receive and maintain a SECRET clearanceBachelor’s in an Engineering discipline and 7+ years of experienceKnowledge of engineering practices, physics, mathematics, hydrodynamics, and experimented fluid mechanicsAbility to perform hydrodynamic model testing including experience in model design, instrumentation setup, software development for data acquisition and analysisKnowledge of common computer aided design tools to facilitate model design and model part construction including Rhino, AutoCAD, and/or SolidworksKnowledge of common experimental data acquisition, controls, and analysis software including LabVIEW, MatLab, C/C++, and PythonExperience with project management and test program executionAbility to communicate orally and in writing


Desired:

Experience with experimental cavitation investigationsExperience with advanced experimental techniquesExperience with wind, water tunnel, cavitation channels and/or tow tank testing including model setup, instrumentation, and test proceduresExtensive knowledge of high-speed camera operation and lightingExperience developing and utilizing automatic image analysisExperience in operation of high-powered lasersUnderstanding data storage on servers

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$86,600 - $181,800
