As a Test Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering quality assurance services to support application, cloud, and data systems development. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years experience with experience with quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile/DevSecOps work environment.
ContributionsUnderstand stakeholder and business needs and convey requirements clearly to developers, data engineers, and delivery teamsPartner with product design, engineering, and data teams to define testing scope, parameters, and strategiesWrite and maintain test plans, test cases, test procedures, defect reports, and final QA artifacts to support traceability and auditabilityManage test data requirements, including test data architecture definitions and requestsTroubleshoot issues, analyze test results, and continuously streamline and improve testing proceduresTest and examine code, data pipelines, and system components written by others and analyze results, including three or more of the following:Data validation testingFunctional testingPerformance and load testingUsability testingAccessibility (Section 508) testingSupport quality assurance for modern data platforms, including data ingestion pipelines, transformation workflows, analytics layers, and data-serving interfacesValidate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and business logic across the full data lifecycle (ingest → transform → store → serve)Develop and execute test cases for ETL/ELT pipelines, batch and streaming workflows, and data integrations across cloud and on-prem environmentsPerform data reconciliation and source-to-target validation to ensure expected outcomes and correctnessParticipate in testing of analytics, dashboards, and reports to ensure metrics, calculations, and aggregations align with documented definitionsCollaborate with data engineers and architects to understand data models, schemas, transformation logic, and schema evolution, ensuring changes do not introduce regressions or break downstream consumersEstablish, enhance, and maintain automated testing tools, infrastructure, and scripts, including automation for functional, performance, security, and data validation testingSupport automation of data tests, including regression tests, pipeline checks, and validation scripts integrated into CI/CD pipelinesAutomate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes in collaboration with DevSecOps teamsSupport testing of cloud-native platforms and services, including storage, compute, orchestration, containerized environments, and managed platform componentsEnsure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsDocument the current (“as-is”) state of systems, perform gap analyses, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsLeverage virtualization and containerization technologies to optimize testing of software and data systemsWork with cross-functional teams to continuously improve QA, DevSecOps processes, testing strategies, and tools for complex, data-intensive systemsProvide regular status updates, test reporting, and knowledge sharing, including cross-training with DevOps and delivery team membersAct as an individual contributor while mentoring more junior team members Qualifications

Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience3 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket3 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages3 Years of application DevSecOps Experience with actual/active development experience in an Agile environmentExperience utilizing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes3 Years of Experience implementing test automation, using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Soap UI, RestAssured, PostmanExperience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD PipelinesExperience with performance and load testingExperience in one or more cloud computing environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience validating data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across application or data workflowsExperience testing data-intensive systems, integrations, or analytics-driven applicationsAbility to design and execute test cases that validate business logic, data transformations, and system outputsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate and diagnose data or system issuesPreferred

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
