Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) is a new system under development that will provide a modern auxiliary information display to Air Traffic Controllers in the National Airspace System (NAS). E-IDS will consolidate several legacy IDS systems into a common platform to provide controllers with current and consistent information needed to perform air traffic operations from both local and enterprise sources. E-IDS will use a common hardware and software platform across over 400 NAS facilities, including En Route, Terminal, Tower, and Offshore domains.

 

The Validation & Verification Engineer will support the analysis, planning, design, and execution of the Development and Operational Test programs for the E-IDS. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing requirements, reviewing contractor deliverables, developing test plans and procedures, and executing tests. The Nobis team is also responsible for the design, construction, and operation of a large state-of-the-art lab environment that will be used for evaluating the functional capabilities and operational suitability of the system.

 

Work Location: William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City, NJ

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Develop test plans, procedures, and reports to evaluate the functional capabilities, availability, deployment, and other aspects of the E-IDS systemPerform complex testing and analysis of software, networks, and cloud-based systemsPerforms analysis of documented user requirements and assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements.Supports all phases of risk management assessment and system test development.Supports ensuring that the test design and documentation support applicable standards.Develop data sets, simulations, and other assets required to fully evaluate the E-IDS systemSupports ensuring test conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results.Participating in test readiness reviews, assessing developer’s test reports and corrective actions plans, and participating in vendor testing at W. J. Hughes Technical Center.Conducting tests to ensure requirement compliance and operational suitability.Troubleshooting system failures and conducting recovery effortsConducting informal audits and documenting system failures, anomalies, and requirement violationsGenerating and providing test metrics reports for FAA managementSupporting technical reviews of Feature System and Software Design documentationProviding technical expertise to design reviews and Technical Interchange MeetingsUpdating and maintaining requirement test matricesReview and develop documentation to include, but not limited to: requirements and interface specifications, test plans and procedures, user documentation, training material, technical instruction material, maintenance plansParticipate in TIMs and other meetings with program stakeholders Required Qualifications

The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field plus 5+ years of relevant experience.

 The candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience with formal system testing and validation & verification of FAA NAS systemsFamiliarity with simulation and test automation toolsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsStrong analytical, written, presentation, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.Exceptional attention to detail, well organized, and the ability to self-prioritize multiple activities.Demonstrated ability to operate independently.Ability to effectively initiate action, collaborate with others, and drive action items to resolution.Excellent customer relationship management and negotiation skillsAbility to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment, demonstrate teamwork and initiative, and function productively in the face of new assignments and the re-prioritization of existing assignments. Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
