Test Engineer

The Test Engineer (TE) works closely with Creation's Customer Focused Team and is responsible for the commissioning, validation, sustaining and support of customer supplied, and Creation designed test systems. The TE will ensure that exceptional test procedures and test system documentation are available to allow smooth production flow. As the TE, you will use your grounding in Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturing philosophy, to define the test process, methods, improvements, equipment, and tools necessary to result in high production yields. Our customers will see you as an extension to their test engineering team, as you propose DFT recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce cost and improve quality. You will work in collaboration with the production team to troubleshoot, and support root cause analysis of test failures related to supplier quality, SMT or final assembly. The TE will ensure that test related engineering changes are properly implemented. This position directly reports to the Engineering / Test Engineering Leader and supports the Customer Focused Teams.

The Test Engineer is a foundational role at Creation Technologies, focused on executing moderate to moderately complex engineering tasks required in the creation, configuration and optimization of industrial processes required to produce and/or test Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and/or box assemblies. This entry-level engineering position is crucial for those starting their career in electronics manufacturing services, providing an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting while developing first areas of subject matter expertise and learning industry standards and practices. This role supports engineering activities under the guidance

of Engineering Management. It’s a role that combines hands-on experience with professional growth, offering insights into manufacturing processes and a pathway for future advancement in the field.

·Executes Test engineering tasks and activities under the direction of Test Engineering team.

· Read wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.

· Working knowledge of test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, digital multi-meter, logic analyzers) executables, test stand, functional test systems and LabVIEW etc.

· Provides test station build support and assists in the development of testing procedures.

· Assists in the design and implementation of test fixtures and setups to improve test efficiency and accuracy.

· Assists in the documentation, maintenance, and improvement of test solutions, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective and aligned with product specifications. Uses Computerized Maintenance Management System.

· Participates in the troubleshooting and calibration of test equipment, test setups and fixtures, contributing to the resolution of issues and ensuring test accuracy and reliability of test results.

· Collaborates with the test engineering team to improve test strategies, enhancing the effectiveness

and efficiency of testing.

· Provides training and support to technicians in the use of test equipment and execution of test procedures.

· Perform Design for Test analysis with cross functional teams and reporting.

· Analyze electronic and electromechanical assemblies to determine cause of product defect to include circuit analysis, part identification diagnosis and replacement of defective components to bring product into specification.

· Analyze defective components to determine failure cause and provide report, if necessary, for Engineering and Supply Chain corrective action.

· Resolve Debug escalations.

· Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzes data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Required Experience

· Bachelor's Degree (4 year) in Engineering (Electrical, or other relevant discipline) or a related field with a focus on electronics and manufacturing processes or equivalent industry or military training experience.

· New graduates or candidates with up to 4 years of engineering support experience in electronics manufacturing preferred.

Skills Required

· Ability to interpret a variety of technical documents such as wiring diagrams and drawings effectively.

· Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards such as ISO9001/13485 or AS9100.

· Understanding of the concepts of New Product Introduction and how to execute projects including

supporting functions.

· Understands and can execute Design for Assembly and Test tasks as required.

· Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.

· Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Capacity to learn and apply new skills in a dynamic manufacturing services environment.

· Awareness of IPC standards, Lean principles, six sigma and industrial ergonomics preferred.

· Proficient in using Computer systems and knowledge of CAD/CAM and programming preferred.

· Engineering project management and project leadership skills an asset.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $70,000-$120,000 USD; a shift differential may also be provided depending on the work hours. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, location, and shift.
