The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
SPA has an immediate need for a Mk21A Flight Test Engineer to support the onsite SPA team at Hill AFB, UT. The Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Group (SIG) supports the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center in the acquisition of the LGM-35A Sentinel (GBSD) ICBM weapon system. SIG delivers program management, systems engineering, and subject matter expertise to ensure on-time delivery of a safe, secure, and reliable strategic nuclear weapon system.
ResponsibilitiesSPA is looking for a qualified Mk21A Flight Test Engineer to join our team in support of Program Acquisition for the Mk21A Reentry Vehicle Development Program as required by the warfighter, Air Force Global Strike Command. We’re seeking a Test Engineer to coordinate Flight, Ground, and Cyber test activities with Government stakeholders, Prime and subcontractors and will review test concepts, policies, and standards of missile system tests. This role offers a unique opportunity to support an active test launch program with a team of subject matter experts. The advancement of technical skills and analysis capabilities are emphasized while producing high-quality products and effectively supporting the government customer.
This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to shape the development and deployment of our nation’s newest re-entry vehicle—the national security critical backbone of our nuclear deterrent capability. A successful candidate is creative, flexible, and comfortable handling diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities. Job location will be at Hill AFB, Utah.
Additional responsibilities include providing weapon system expertise in conducting integrated test engineering-level assessments of analysis, production, verification, validation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution processes as part of the program development cycle and to identify and mitigate design, production, and test deficiencies that could impact successful development.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
B.S. degree in engineering, or related field.
U.S. Citizen with DoD SECRET clearance.At least 4 years of progressive technical experience or 2 years with a Masters Degree.
Developmental or Operational Flight Test Experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with ICBM Weapon Systems.Familiarity with developing test plans.Familiarity with program management principles, including cost, schedule, and performance assessment.Familiarity with analyzing test reports.Experience with DoD acquisition programs.
