A new opportunity has arisen for a Test Facility Electrical Engineer, supporting electrical and control systems within Rolls-Royce Defense test facilities. In this role, you will serve as a technical contributor for the Test Electrical Systems team, contributing to the design, commissioning and support of electrical test equipment, PLC systems, and large motors & drives.

As a Test Facility Electrical Engineer for Rolls-Royce, you’ll deliver the capability to test products at system, subsystem and component levels, collecting and validating data to support the verification of product designs. The Test Electrical Systems team is responsible for bringing new test capability to Rolls-Royce and for maintaining reliable test equipment that Rolls-Royce depends on to pass certification and development testing. Key Accountabilities:

Designs and delivers electrical test equipment for whole engine and subsystem testing of gas turbines and components, hybrid electric propulsion, thermal management systems, and energy storage systems.

Works under limited supervision to develop solutions to complex electrical/technical problems of broad or ambiguous scope.

Leads efforts to design, deploy and maintain programmable logic control (PLC) systems, electric drive and load absorption systems, large motors, various electrical/electronic control components, and low/medium-voltage electrical power supply and distribution systems.

Executes system integration of electrical control components related to pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, instrumentation, and facility health and safety systems to validate capabilities and test requirements.

Performs safety oversight during test facility improvements or test equipment installations and provides direction for internal and/or contracted skilled trades personnel.

Generates specifications, statements of work (SOW), and cost and schedule estimates; documents work through technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and models.

Communicates openly and frequently with internal customers and team leadership.


Basic Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology with 3+ years of relevant experience with electrical systems, OR

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology with 1+ years of relevant experience with electrical systems, OR

Master's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, OR

JD/PhD

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

Preferred Requirements:

Experience integrating large motors and electric drives for industrial applications.

Experience developing and deploying PLC systems for industrial control or automation.

Experience with developing test solutions and procedures.

Exposure to gas turbine engines, engine test stands or industrial test environments.

Ability to qualify for DoD security clearance is a plus.
