Primary Responsibilities:

Overall responsible for the management and operation of Systems and Flammability laboratories and its personnelPlans and sets day-to-day operational objectives within a clearly defined area of responsibility. Assigns tasks to the team to achieve operational targets, service standards, etc. and ensures practices and procedures are followed by direct reports.Provide continual development of the individual and team performance through coaching, clarifying performance expectations and setting & supporting the delivery of challenging objectives and goals.Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and rewards decisions for direct reports.Identifies, defines, and addresses problems that are not immediately evident, but typically not complex. Proactively interfaces with all key stakeholders, internal customers & external personnel to support the needs of the team & the business. Communicates with parties within and outside of own team, which may include external customers or vendors depending on the job.Define and communicate project goals, scope, expectations, accountability, and direction to team members.Develop schedules & deliverables, track & execute project plans from initiation through to deliveryEstablish and track Key Performance Indicators and governance systems ensuring that the laboratory and its equipment meet the standards and team members are appropriately trained and able to perform testing methods based on standards.Work closely with the AMP leader, peers, and key stakeholders to determine team direction, priorities and allocation of resource, lab capability needs and any improvement projectsIdentify lab capability needs, create, and deliver improvement projects, and develop training plans to ensure the equipment and team can support the needs of the businessAny other duties as required to support business needs

Key Skills/Experience

Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process executionHas experience in managing Test lab equipment and processes, and leading and supporting research, development, and engineering projects for multi-functional and IPT teamsHas project management skills and experience

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.Working experience on test lab management and operations and lab certification/accreditation is a plus.
