Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Test Manager specializing in the European rail domain, you will lead and coordinate field testing activities on trains, covering both onboard and wayside systems. This role ensures compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on end-to-end system integration and validation.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Strategy and Planning:
Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for onboard and wayside systems, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and operations, to define test objectives, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.Field Testing Coordination:
Manage and oversee field testing activities on the train, including real-world scenarios for onboard and wayside components.Supervise test execution, troubleshoot issues in real-time, and ensure accurate data collection and documentation.Compliance and Standards:
Ensure adherence to European rail standards (e.g., EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) and country-specific regulations.Validate system safety, performance, and interoperability across onboard and wayside interfaces.Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with customers, railway operators, and certification bodies to ensure successful test completion and approvals.Provide regular updates and detailed test reports to stakeholders.Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement:
Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive root cause analysis with development teams.Propose and implement improvements in testing processes and methodologies.Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor testing teams, ensuring proper resource allocation, training, and adherence to safety protocols during field activities.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Extensive experience in testing and validation within the rail domain, particularly in onboard and wayside systems.In-depth knowledge of European rail standards and regulatory requirements.Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in relevant testing tools and technologies.Willingness to travel extensively for field testing activities.Language:
German and Italian mandatory for Germany location.French mandatory for France location.Skills & Experience
