Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Testing Technician II to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA.
As a member of the Advanced Technology team, the Test Engineering Technician II position will support daily production testing of electromechanical assemblies and the implementation of automated manufacturing technologies through software and hardware system construction, validation, data collection, operator training, technical support and maintenance.
Main Job Duties: Maintain, upgrade, repair and troubleshoot production test system and automated manufacturing technologies (software and hardware)Validate functionality of software and hardware systems prior to deployment or following updatesUpdate LabVIEW application source code under direction and guidance of Test EngineersTrain team supervisors and operators on use of equipmentProvide on-demand technical support through Production Technology Help DeskRespond to and troubleshoot all issuesElevate issues to engineers, as necessaryEnsure all issues are addressed and closedMaintain test equipment inventoryMaintain test equipment inventory database and integrate inventory with ERP systemPrepare ready-to-deploy spares for critical componentsEnsure that the equipment requiring calibration is up-to-dateHandle RMAs for equipment requiring repairAssist in creating technical documentation such as drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, installation instructions and work instructions Deliver, maintain, troubleshoot and provide training for off-site test equipment located at Contract Manufacturers’ facilitiesAdhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices, including the SECRIT valuesAssembly of test stations, fixtures, probes and other UEC-built equipmentAssist Test Engineers, as neededInvestigate and correct production test issues that are not identified by the test systems (CAPA)Identify opportunities for new technologies and improvementsOther duties as assigned by managementFlexible schedule to support the night shift and international operations, as necessary
Qualifications Education: Two-year technical degree, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related fieldMinimum 2 years in electrical/electronic testing or other relevant experienceUnderstanding of high-voltage electrical safety practicesWorking knowledge of international test standards as they apply to UEC products (UL/IEC/CE/CCC)Ability to read technical drawings and schematicsProficient use of hand tools and power toolsLabVIEW Core 1 and Core 2 UnderstandingSkills/Knowledge/Abilities: Ability to interface with frontline production team members in a professional manner in a fast-paced, deadline driven environmentAble to create technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and operating instructions/manualsBasic understanding of LabVIEW-based software applicationsStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in relation to software development and electronics testingWorking Conditions / Physical RequirementsPrimary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
