Position OverviewWe are hiring a Test Technician to support the testing and assembly of electrical and mechanical equipment, including prototypes, at our Kingston, NY facility. This role is hands-on and collaborative, ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with schematics, test equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret work orders, blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions to determine testing and assembly methods.Gather necessary parts, tools, and measuring devices for builds.Test equipment operation and software functionality.Document test results, including test reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).Support engineering with prototype assembly (mechanical and electrical).Collaborate with departments such as Fabrication, Welding, Finishing, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality Control, and Accounting.Required SkillsElectrical and mechanical testing experienceAbility to read schematics, diagrams, and blueprintsTroubleshooting down to board levelFamiliarity with test equipment and calibrationAssembly and wiring experienceProficiency in Microsoft OfficePreferred SkillsWiring experience (480V high voltage / 24V low voltage)Prototype build supportUnderstanding of work instructions and test proceduresUse of hand tools and electro-mechanical debuggingQualificationsAS or BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent hands-on experienceStrong knowledge of electrical theory and test equipmentPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
