Diesel Test Technician role focused on testing, repairing, and configuring diesel vehicles and components to validate new product designs and support sustaining products.
Job Requirements:
AS degree in a technical field
5+ years of experience as a diesel technician or mechanic
Experience with diesel fleet maintenance, military diesel vehicles, or similar heavy equipment
Experience performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, and related systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals, and engineering procedures
Experience using diagnostic tools, meters, and hand/power tools for vehicle repair and testing
Ability to perform configuration changes and mechanical adjustments on vehicles and test stands
Preferred Skills:
Background as a Diesel Fleet Mechanic, Military Diesel Mechanic, or proven freelance diesel mechanic experience
Experience working in a test and development, R&D, or prototype environment
Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on vehicles or mobile equipment
Experience fabricating brackets, mounts, or simple structures (cutting, drilling, basic welding, assembly)
Familiarity with test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test stand operation
Experience documenting test results, configurations, and repair activities
Job Responsibilities:
Support senior technicians and engineers in testing vehicles, components, and systems
Perform configuration changes, mechanical adjustments, and repairs on vehicles and test stands per engineering instructions
Set up, operate, and maintain test stands and related equipment for vehicle and component testing
Assist in the fabrication and assembly of vehicles, test fixtures, and sub-systems as required
Follow engineering procedures, standards, and specifications during all build, test, and repair activities
Perform root cause checks and corrective actions on sustaining products based on test findings
Record test data, configuration changes, and repair details accurately in logs and reports
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and organized condition
Provide technical support to internal customers and Test and Development teams during new product validation and issue resolution
Pay Details: $40.00 to $48.00 per hour
