Job Summary:

Integrates and configures Personal Computing (PC) hardware and peripherals.


Principal Responsibilities:

Integrates and configures a variety of PC hardware, operating system software and peripherals, assembling PC electronic components, installing circuit boards, disk drives, mass storage devices and peripheral equipment and/or other related components.Troubleshoots and resolves integration and configuration problems involving circuit analysis, wave form calculations, fault isolation, Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM) programming and signal flow tracing.Troubleshoots issues to diagnose malfunctions and equipment failures and takes appropriate actions based on process requirements.Completes appropriate documentation regarding defective parts replacement, shipping, build process updates, etc.Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.Other duties as assigned.

Determines best course of action to resolve problems and makes recommendations for improvement.Work is performed under little or no guidance and assigned in the form of broad objectives. Significant creativity and ingenuity are expected to recommend solutions to complex problems and additional challenges. May act as informal team lead and/or coach less experienced team members.Frequent collaboration with management, external contacts and/or other teams. Coordinates efforts with other departments for optimal efficiency. May act as a point of contact for individuals internally and/or externally.Actions may impact the department and the organization. Errors may be difficult to detect and remedy and may require significant expenditure to resolve.


Work Experience:

Typically requires a minimum of eight years of related experience.


Education and Certification(s):

High School Diploma or equivalent


Distinguishing Characteristics:

Specific department may require specialized certification, e.g. A+.May require standing for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.Position may require travel.
