Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Location/Division Specific Information:

Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world’s finest tools used by researches like Nobel prize winners and the teams who imaged the COVID-19 virus.

A Day in the Life:

Perform testing using prescribed methods/work instructionsCollect test data for our database then analyze data to make process decisionsAssist in selection and/or set-up of specialized equipmentPerforms wide variety of analysis to identify and address problemsPerform machine set-up, calibration and preventative maintenanceRebuild manufacturing equipment when needed to ensure operability

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent requiredA 2-year technical degree preferred or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills. Military Technical Training in lieu of technical degree may also be considered

Experience:

At least 1 year of manufacturing/electronics testing requiredPrevious experience using test equipment preferred (Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Chart Recorders)Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plusExperience with Windows-based and MS Office programs a plus (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access)Military Veterans encouraged to apply.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to read detailed drawings and perform basic problem solving on electronic and mechanical assemblies at the component and system levelComfortable to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPEAble to follow detailed work instructions then successfully complete daily workAbility to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaborativelySelf-motivated, with strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Ability to lift up to 35lbsStrong verbal and written communication skills, successful in teams with differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds
