Test Technician III

Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Test Technician III to be responsible for reading and understanding sophisticated schematics containing both analog and digital circuitry. Troubleshoot complex PCBs down to the component level and expert in the usage of a variety of complex test instrumentation, including audio/video test equipment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Assumes full responsibility of testing activities for one or more product lines; Adapts to different testing such as working from PCBA level to LRU Level; Assists Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure that quality products are built and they meet minimum acceptance test criteria per ATP.Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans from Engineering to perform routine testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions of a simple nature. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment to ensure conformance with final product specifications; Diagnoses and isolates failures down to component level; Conducts defined tests, collect data as assigned, and maintain pass/fail data using MRP-SAP for Traceability as well as generating in process quality notification to track history and details of failures and corrections.Utilizes routine manufacturing test or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, Video On-Demand, Digital Volt Meter, signal generators, specialized test apparatus; Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, reassembles, and tests units as required. Performs in-process final verification of product and paperwork associated with the final product to support Quality Assurance and Traceability; May be assigned to assists Test Engineer to set up Test Stations and maintain Burn-in racks for reliability testing; Must be able to learn and utilize Company’s resources such as MRP-SAP, Chorus 2.0, Team Center to verify all related documents and procedures.Assists the line lead to ensure calibration/certification on all test equipment and hand tools are up to date and/or turn in to tool crib for calibration and certification; Support the line and actively participates with continuous improvement program by following Lean Concepts and 5S guidelines; Must be flexible with jobs that can assist in other production lines, warehouse/stockroom, and kitting team as well as helping assembly line when required.Minimum Qualifications
One-year certificate from a technical school in Electronic Technology or related field.4-6 years of related experience as Electronic Test Technician in Manufacturing/Production.Ability to read and interpret assembly drawing and schematics to be used for troubleshooting.Proficient computer skills and knowledge using Microsoft Excel and Word.Able to work with PC’s and applications such as Windows and other related test software.Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing when highlighting technical issues to Support Staff (Team, Test Engineer, Mfg. Special Position Requirements
Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday and will occasionally involve working some Saturdays and Sundays.Physical Environment: Primary work environment is the manufacturing, production, warehouse, stockroom areas.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job: Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Frequently is required to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms; Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear; Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Travel: Very limited travel potentially to other Thales manufacturing sites within the USA.Regulatory Compliance Requirements: None.What We Offer
The anticipated TTC range for this role is $49,620.20 - $92,151.80 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
