Job Purpose
Conducts, tests and completes data collection activities of batteries, battery chargers, energy systems and related equipment. Fabricates prototype components and test fixtures for lab and field testing and performs installations and repairs of test equipment and components when necessary. Perform RMA repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conducts tests on new components, assembled rechargeable batteries, chargers and associated printed wiring boards based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans and maintains accurate records of test results and reports development to appropriate group. Demonstrates excellent soldering and electrical assembly skills. Prepares prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products. Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate supervisor. Builds test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field use conditions. Reports to supervisor about all ongoing projects with regard to project status, completion time projections and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project. 2 years technical degree in electrical engineering, technology or related field 2+ years related experience in testing processes Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment General Job Requirements Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch. Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions. This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety. Risk of electrical shock. Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
