This position reports to

Production Supervisor - System Drives

Your role and responsibilities

Testing: Perform functional testing and inspection of electric drive and control products per test procedures, using standard and specialized test equipment, within the routed testing time, ensuring compliance to the quality and delivery metricsTrouble Shooting: Troubleshoot the repair of drives and/or subassemblies, and/or circuit boards that may fail under the test procedure; identifying and repairing the problem by performing re-testing of the product as needed ensuring the best possible and most cost effective problem solution.Operations Improvement: Together with Production Leadership, Identifies and recommends improvement opportunities within the production and testing process; supports implementation improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality and cost requirements. Collaborates with Advanced Manufacturing team to integrate new technologies, lean manufacturing principles and material presentation into production and testing processesProduction Support: Supports production and associated testing activities during new product startups and process changes by training indirect and direct staff dictated by the Workmanship Standards Guideline. Responsible for prototyping and document build process for new products introduced to the local manufacturing unitHealth, Safety and Environment (HSE): Support Production Supervisor in implementing plans to ensure people, and equipment safety. Participate in updating all JSA, and Ergonomic risk assessments on an annual basis or as required. Participate in conducting and managing all ILP and resulting actions as required.#LI-Onsite

Qualifications for the role

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)An Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent preferredMinimum 2 years of experience in Production or Electrical Test Environment or relevant field}, working as Electrical Tester or Manufacturing Assembler with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Sound knowledge of variable frequency drives and associated test equipment and the variable frequency drive marketAbility to read and comprehend assembly instructions, electrical diagrams, wire tables, workstation book of prints, assembly drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
