Job Title Testing Associate Agency Texas A&M University - Texarkana Department Student Success - Testing Center Proposed Minimum Salary $13.00 hourly Job Location Texarkana, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description The Part-time Testing Assistant reports to the Testing Administrator and under general supervision, is responsible for administering exams while ensuring compliance with university, local and national exam protocols. This role also involves assisting with the daily operations of the Testing Center. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, which may include a variance from regular working hours when necessary. Employment in the Testing Center is contingent upon not being enrolled as a student at Texas A&M University-Texarkana or in an undergraduate degree program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: + The Testing Assistant is tasked with supporting the daily operations of the Testing Center. + This role involves explaining Testing Center procedures and monitoring testing sessions, ensuring adherence to standardized policies and regulations to maintain the integrity of testing processes and the confidentiality of test results. + The Testing Assistant serves as a proctor for various testing activities, including University, national, state, and local examinations such as ALEKS, CLEP, CPCE, Kryterion, Major Field Tests, Meazure, Pearson, TSIA2, and other standardized assessments, as well as proctoring tests for the University and external institutions. + Strong customer service skills are essential for effectively managing phone inquiries, emails, responding to questions, scheduling appointments, and providing support for special projects. as well as processing score results, compiling data, and preparing reports as needed. + Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as maintaining files, collecting fees, depositing funds, word processing, managing spreadsheets and databases. + The Testing Assistant must interact professionally and courteously with students, college personnel, and the general public. + Report any unusual events, attempts at academic dishonesty, or irregularities occurring during testing to the appropriate personnel. + Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, maintain accurate records, and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of the testing environment and materials is crucial. + Ability to troubleshoot software and issues during testing. + Availability for evening and weekend shifts may be required, particularly during peak periods such as registration, midterms, and finals. + Additional related duties may be assigned, as necessary. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Minimum Qualifications + High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Two (2) years of related experience + Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others + Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications + Work experience in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented office environment. + Experience with student testing program and/or software, including familiarity with computer-based testing systems and exam proctoring. + Experience with scheduling software and ability to generate evaluative data for reports and administering computer and paper-based exams. + Prior work experience in academic testing. + Experience with implementing University policies and procedures. + Operational knowledge of Optical Mark Scanners. Other Requirements + Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL: This position generally does not supervise employees.
