The opportunity

As a Senior Payments Specialist focusing on MT to MX conversion, you will be instrumental in leading the transition from traditional SWIFT MT messaging standards to the ISO 20022 MX message format. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in various payment systems, including Wires, ACH, RTP, and FedNow. Your role will involve strategic planning, systems analysis, and implementation of the new standards across our payment processing infrastructure. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure a seamless and efficient migration.

 

Skills and attributes for success

Lead the analysis, mapping, and conversion of SWIFT MT messages to ISO 20022 MX messages. In-depth knowledge of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messaging standards. Expertise in payment systems including FedNow, ACH, Wire transfers, and RTP (Real-Time Payments). Strong skills in analysis, mapping, and conversion processes for financial messaging. Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate MX standards into existing payment systems. Develop and execute project plans for the MT to MX transition, including timelines, milestones, and risk assessments. Provide expertise on ISO 20022 standards and guide the organization through the adoption process. Design and conduct testing procedures to ensure the accuracy and functionality of MX message processing. Liaise with external partners, including banks and financial institutions, to coordinate the migration efforts. Train and mentor team members on ISO 20022 standards and related technologies. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends related to payment messaging standards. Document conversion processes and create reference materials for ongoing support and maintenance. Responsible for writing and executing the Test Cases for Functional Testing and Migration Testing Maintaining the Bug Reports and delivery Note details. Involved in Peer-Review of the test cases, Sanity Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, System Testing and User Acceptances Testing. Involved in review meetings and walk through meetings. Attend status calls as needed to report on testing progress Experience with Agile methodologies is essential, as is familiarity with the onshore/offshore working model to ensure seamless collaboration and communication across diverse teams

 

Academic and Work experience

Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in payment systems, with a focus on SWIFT messaging and ISO 20022. Wires, ACH, RTP,Fed Now Demonstrated experience in leading MT to MX conversion projects. Strong understanding of financial messaging standards and payment industry practices. Proficiency in XML and experience with financial messaging interfaces and middleware. Excellent project management skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience with payment system regulations and compliance requirements. Knowledge of various payment types, including cross-border and high-value payments.
