Textile Design Director

Job Summary:

Ruggable is seeking a passionate, talented and experienced Director of Textile Design to join our growing team. As a key member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a strong culture based on creative excellence and achievement of strategic objectives. We are looking for expertise in textile design and development for home goods, focused on but not limited to Rugs. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of building up our design capability in non-printed products. 

This role is based in our LA Design + Product  Studio with a hybrid schedule (office/remote). 

What You’ll Do:

Lead a team of designers  responsible for Seasonal & Core product that aligns with the Ruggable Design Roadmap and Brand Vision  Collaborate with the VP of Design to develop a robust portfolio of products for the home that enhance our brand aesthetic and customer appeal Work closely with our Product + Leadership team to assess new opportunities  Create visually compelling mood boards to inspire new products  Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure design consistency and alignment with brand standards Work closely with Design + PD team to build relationships, develop unique rug collections, and ensure timely delivery. Oversee the creation of production-ready textile design files and assess strike-offs for color and design accuracy Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, identify potential risks, and communicate project updates effectively Provide strategic guidance and project management for both short-term and long-term design initiatives

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Textile Design or a related field 8-10 years of experience in a design leadership role, preferably within the home furnishings or textile industry Experience leading and managing team of designers  Proficiency in Adobe Suite Experience leading, motivating and mentoring high performance teams  Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal Proven track record of leading design projects from initial concept to completion  Ability to work independently and proactively to overcome obstacles Data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

Strong interest in home and textile design, particularly rug design Textile Expertise in a variety of constructions including but not limited to Woven, Knitted and Embroidered

Compensation:

$130,000-$175,000 per year base salary An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
