LRC MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army Lighthouse Recovery Center is committed to helping individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and who have a problematic substance use by providing a drug-free and supportive living and learning environment, encouraging spiritual growth and strengthening life skills necessary in their transition to a more meaningful and fulfilling life
JOB SUMMARY: Provide peer to peer support to those in early recovery who are at risk or disadvantaged with multiple barriers in their recovery environment and community.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
Valid Guam Driver’s License Possess One year or more of continuous abstinence from any of the following in combination or independently: alcohol, drugs, use of medication(s) not prescribed to yourself Certified Peer Specialist
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide Peer-to-peer Support to individuals identified under the GBHWC Assist and Guide individuals with application drop off Assist in the transportation of individuals to court hearings, case management meetings, probation/parole check-ins, doctor’s apts, etc. Answer questions individuals have regarding access to services in the community Work with Counselor/Case Manager in coordinating transportation for appointments Provide supportive and appropriate feedback with personal experiences on navigating early recovery Role-Model a positive recovery oriented life-style that individuals can work toward Maintain appropriate / professional boundaries at all times (training will be provided)
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Assist with special events ( Point In Time, Passport to Services, Fundraisers, Homeless Outreaches) and seasonal events (Christmas, Thanksgiving) as needed
EQUIPMENT NEEDS: Use office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, calculators, etc.

Work under stressful conditions while maintaining personal recovery Interact with others with courtesy and tact displaying respect and positive regard to individuals in early recovery Manage and prioritize multiple projects in an organized and efficient manner Respond to crisis situations in a calm and effective manner Prioritize multiple work tasks to meet tight deadlines and Complete projects on schedule Maintain confidentiality at all times being mindful of re-disclosure Maintain regular and punctual work attendance Dress in an appropriate manner that is professional and respectful
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position requires sitting; climbing and/or balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25-50 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds; traveling by airplane.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
In most cases, work will be out of the office spending time at community agencies. Some work will be indoors at the Lighthouse Recovery Center. Attendance in trainings both in-house and out in the community is highly recommended and may be made mandatory from time to time.
