Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join the inpatient team. The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will evaluate, plan and implement treatment for assigned inpatient populations and groups with limited abilities and a variety of rehabilitation diagnoses with the transdisciplinary team. Therapist will provide clinical services and program planning in the areas including but not limited to therapy, recreation participation, leisure education/counseling, and community reintegration.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in community reintegration preferred Experience in a clinical setting as a recreation therapist Experience working with individuals with physical disabilitiesEducation/Certifications
Graduate of an accredited recreation therapy education program, Bachelor’s Degree in recreational therapy preferred Licensed driver in the Commonwealth of Virginia in good standing Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or CTRS certified within six (6) months of hire Healthcare Professionals CPR
