Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Therapeutic Specialist, Urology.
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, Urology & Men’s Health, the Therapeutic Specialist, Urology, is primarily responsible for generating leads, advancing the sales process, and driving brand awareness to achieve results to sales quotas. This position will also actively participate in the planning and execution of brand marketing activities including generating awareness, other learning activities and continuing health education activities for existing targeted customers.
The Therapeutic Specialist will be a product expert capable of advising doctors and other healthcare professionals about the purpose and benefits of the products. This role will require an understanding of how doctors use different types of drugs to treat patients with prostate cancer and other illnesses. This position will primarily call on specialists who treat prostate cancer (urologist, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists), and may be required to call on other prescribers, healthcare professionals and stakeholders including GPs, pharmacists, nurses, drug access navigators, etc.
The Therapeutic Specialist focused in Urology is a field based role, based in the province of Quebec.
Essential Functions Required for Job:
Execute the sales POA portion of the integrated product strategy by working collaboratively with internal partners (marketing, scientific affairs, regulatory, finance, market access, etc.) and being the face of the brand to external stakeholders (healthcare professionals who care for patients with prostate cancer).
Execute the field-based launch plan for ORGOVYX™ (relugolix) using approved branded and unbranded materials and programs.
Develop and execute territory business plans for ORGOVYX, including identification and prioritization of customer target lists, and customer/cancer centre specific objectives.
Deliver accredited CHE programs, Other Learning Activities and Lunch & Learns in live or virtual settings in support of territory business plan and customer/cancer centre specific objectives.
Establish collaborative working relationships with prescribers, other HCPs and stakeholders to grow prescriptions and sales of ORGOVYX.
Work cross-functionally with commercial team members (marketing, business analytics, market access, medical affairs, etc.) to execute programs and materials
Develop and execute sales calls. Implement programs with customers to support and optimize brand promotion including:
Promotional materialsContinuing Education Programs/Other Learning ActivitiesPatient programs and materialsCancer centre rounds and conferencesRegional and national urology and oncology conferencesResponsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of territory including:Raising awareness and adoption of ORGOVYX as a new ADT option for patients with prostate cancerStrategically leverage the ORGOVYX Patient Assistance Program (sample) to optimize private insurance sales and provide samples with targeted customers in prioritized geographiesRegular measurement and reporting of performance for sales goalsCo-ordination of marketing programs and tactics within team and with Business Unit Manager .Work within assigned budgets, with consistent attention on return on investment.Execute the sales strategy across the team to drive market position and exceed/achieve product sales targets. In partnership with management, provide input into sales territories, targets, incentive compensation plans and budgets.
Provide regular updates on key performance indicators and progress towards achieving objectives from territory business plans.
Attend/complete all necessary training and development to enhance performance and support their career aspirations.
Create an environment to provide a differentiated customer experience that builds brand loyalty.
Ensure full compliance of activities with all legal and regulatory compliance requirements established by Sumitomo Pharma Canada, Inc. and relevant external bodies (Health Canada, IMC, PAAB, etc.) which govern the sales and promotion of its pharmaceutical products.
Keep daily call logs input planned contacts/programs and record of customer contacts/programs into CRM system. Complete accurate expense reports and adhere to all corporate expense, travel, meal, HCP interaction, and other relevant policies.
